What is Homeschool?

Christian Homeschooling
For many families wishing to homeschool their children, they wish to interweave their faith with the education they give to their children.
Our family is unashamedly Christian, so we knew that we wanted to have a Biblically focused homeschool curriculum that matched our desire to raise our children up knowing Jesus at a young age.
Before our first child was born, I knew that I wanted to homeschool her. After spending years speaking at public schools, I knew that public education would not be the best fit for our family.
I started researching how to homeschool. I was completely new to this idea! Neither my husband nor I had been homeschooled. We had both attended public school for our entire K-12 education.
Best Christian Homeschool Curriculum
After years of research I found what has been such a blessing to our family. We feel that one of the best Christian homeschool curriculums available is Master Books.
We have used the Master Books curriculum to homeschool our daughter for the past three years. One of our goals for educating our children is to give them a love of learning. I truly believe that the gentle approach that Master Books incorporates into the curriculum fosters a sense of curiosity and a love for learning.
Christian Homeschool Curriculum in Oklahoma
According to the Oklahoma homeschool laws, there are no state required curriculums that must be taught. It is the right of each family to make that decision on their own! You can read more about the guidelines for homeschooling in Oklahoma here.
As I am writing this post, my daughter has finished her first nine weeks of first grade. She is learning how to read, learning place values in math, and exploring the world around her.
